Arts Council England announces support for C&T and Prospero for the next three years
Arts Council England (ACE) has announced it will continue to support C&T and its creative learning platform Prospero.digital through until at least 2026, as part of its new National Portfolio.
Following an intensely competitive decision making process involving thousands of artists and organisations across England, the Arts Council has today announced the range of artists it will support through its ‘Lets Create’ strategy. With a plan to redistribute funding away from London and with the public purse under sustained pressure, ACE’s continued support is a huge endorsement for C&T and its vision of creativity through drama and digital technology.
C&T was founded in Worcester in 1988, originally known as Collar and TIE. Since then it has developed a world-leading reputation for its work mixing theatre, learning and technology. This year alone its work will connect young people and schools in Worcester with counterparts in New York City, Nairobi, Tokyo, Australia and beyond. Prospero is the award-winning digital platform that makes these collaborations possible. This future funding will enable C&T to expand its work into new areas including health, social care, apprenticeships and the heritage sector.
Dr Paul Sutton, C&T’s Artistic Director said of the news “we are so grateful for ACE’s support for our work. Arts Council funding is only a small part of our income but it enables us to prioritise the needs of the most vulnerable people in society. It also allows us to be experiment, helping us to create innovative technologies and creative projects to enrich the lives of children, young people and learning disabled people.”
